Im against that structure. There should be easily enough funding if those who stated they would pay just donate. Smazz, nothing has been decided unanimously. Frankly, I was perfectly fine with this board, with all it's faults and criticisms, it still continues to provide the original function it was intended for. But there was an outcry for a new board, and you were part of the original outcry: I am looking into a website for another application but I could piggyback my efforts and look at having a dedicated "FOF" (Friends of Fairfax) site. Even if it would cost of few bucks, Im sure people wouldnt mind Paypal $1. with the amount of people we have here that is all it would take. That way, whats $1 (incase people think I am trying to make $ on it  lol.IF you think this is a good idea just hit the recommend. If there are enough people, I will look into it further. Smazz. The problem as Kilroy has pointed out, is that any such forum is fragile. Small disruptions lead to a larger exodus. The Fool wanted to provide more services and couldn't continue to run in the red, so they instituted a fee...many people fled, including myself. Personally, I am leaning to the donation-based service. I think there are enough people who would be willing to donate funds. I've already gotten a few private offers by email. I would prefer to keep the service free for everyone's use...that was always the way I wanted it. I just needed to see what the response was like for a fee-based system. I was actually surprised by the response and the amount of people willing to pay. I'll keep the board up to date on what is happening over the next few weeks. I hope to have it running soon enough.
